A heavy layer of wet snow collapsed the roof to collapse back in February. There was massive damage to the entire structure. While this was a setback for the Post, it also is an opportunity to upgrade a thirty year old building and to make it more energy efficient, modern and user friendly.

A temporary "VFW Annex" has been opened next door until the new building is finished. A laminated floor has been poured over the old one. The exterior and structural work is all finished. Concrete stain and etching has just been completed. Walls, painting, interour and exteriour doors have all been installed and trimed.  Lighting and air conditioning and electrical work is nearly finished.  There are a few fixtures and some cabinet work yet to be done and the back bar needs to be finished.  Our expectations of being open and moved in by the end of August, have become a reality, our August meeting was held in the new building and we opened the canteen on the same day, August 13.
