Post Commander Involved in Traffic Mishap

Our Post Commander, Joe Holder, was recently involved in a traffic accident while riding his motorcycle. Joe was hurt severely when an 18 wheeler ran over his bike and his leg. Joe has sustained serious injury and has multiple compound fractures and muscle and skin damage that will require several rounds of surgery and considerable recuperation time. Please keep Joe and his family in your thoughts and prayers.

In Memoriam

Bill Spearman

VFW Post 2137 recently lost a loyal member and great friend. On April 15th, Mr. Bill Spearman passed away after a battle with cancer. Bill was a retired Marine Corps Master Sergeant and a longtime member of VFW Post 2137. He was a friend to everyone and a dependable supporter of the Post and its members. He was also a charter member of the VFW Motorcycle Club. Bill's big smile, great laugh and great company will be missed by all. A memorial bearing Bill's name is located behind the Post.

Post Renovations and "Free Wifi"

Some renovations were made last month to improve our Post canteen. A wall was removed between the main canteen and a smaller meeting room where our fireplace and trophy cases sit and a big screen television was mounted over the fireplace. We also have installed WiFi which can be accessed free. Bring your laptop and have fun. We also have a free computer kiosk for those who wish to use the internet at the post but do not have a laptop with them.
